Josu Alday was born in the 20th in the Basque city of Barakaldo. He studied forestry at the University of Valladolid, which was the Spanish kingdom capital during 5 years in the 17th century. However, he secretly started to embrace statistics and the roller coaster dynamics problem more than trees. He received is PhD in restoration ecology in the 21th century, working together with the university of Valladolid and Liverpool (United Kingdom). In his career to date he has been working in different ecosystems and regions worldwide with the aim to understand the impact of disturbances on community dynamics, identifying the underlying ecological mechanisms and processes involved. Tough and complicated issue, otherwise I will be unemployed. Settled over my previous research experience, nowadays I am integrating the spatial and temporal dynamics of communities. Acting as researcher and biostatistician to bridge the gap of my knowledge lacks, but do not saving the world from a bad management.
